Dieppe is an attractive town on the coast of Haute Normandie. It is the ferry
terminal for the Hoverspeed Seacat service from Newhaven. The old town is
pedestrianised and boasts a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, with
seafood a speciality. The town is overlooked by its castle, well worth the short
climb. Along the seashore there's an elegant promenade and a pleasant beach. If
you're on your way into France, it's an easy drive to join the autoroute
network, and about an hour to Rouen.
