   Kitzbuhel is one of the most well-known resorts in the Alps. It's one of those places where you could well find yourself next to someone famous on the lifts! It's a pretty town with 8625 inhabitants, 100 km north-east of Innsbruck. Because it's more of a small town than a village it has all the facilities and amenities to help make your holiday as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Kitzbuhel in summer

Bathing lake, suitable for children, 2.5 km from the resort. Heated swimming pool. Tennis, 18 hole golf course. Riding, fishing, paragliding, summer tobbogan run in St. Johann 10 km. 7 mountain lifts and cable cars, walking paths, mountain walks, climbing. Access:
Kitzbuhel is one of Europe's easiest resorts to reach by air, road or rail - in the latter case there is a station in the village with international connections.  Salzburg airport is 80km ( 50 miles ) away and Innsbruck 100km ( 62 miles ). 

The larger airport at Munich in Germany to the north, is only 160km (100 miles ) all accessed by motorways and good roads.  The final access road in to the resort from most directions, including those three airports, is the Federal highway 178then 161.  A 24 hour driving conditions information line is provided by the Tourist Office on Austria (05332) 61586.
