Fast Ferry Daytime Crossings: stena line high speed ferryWater jets propel the Stena High Speed Ship HSS, not propellers. These make it more efficient at high speed, more manoeuvrable, and reduce draught. The unique hull design holds the vehicle and passenger decks eight metres above the water. The vessel carries 375 cars as well as freight vehicles. On board you'll find a wide range of facilities: restaurants, snack bars, coffee bars, and a small casino in one of the bars. Crossing time is approximately 3 hours 40 minutes. Minimum check in 1 hour before departure, even when taking a pet. There are two sailings each way every day. Club class seats in the panorama lounge are available for a supplement which includes priority boarding.

Overnight Conventional FerriesTwo new ferries were introduced on to the Harwich-Hook of Holland Route in late 2000 and early 2001. The Stena Britannica sailing overnight from Hook of Holland to Harwich and the Stena Hollandica sailing overnight from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. The new ferries have excellent facilities. They are predominantly freight ships but there is also limited space for car traffic on evening sailings, ideal for passengers who find it more convenient to travel overnight. Full English breakfast and evening meal are included in the cost. Onboard facilities include a cinema.

Conventional ferries operate overnight for those who wish to arrive fresh for their journey into Europe. The port of Harwich is 84 easy miles from London via the A12. The new A14 dual carriageway links the port to the M1, the M11 and Eastern England, and this is the only crossing from East Anglia to the Netherlands.
