You can choose your level of cover from basic roadside assistance in the UK right up to full European breakdown cover which will provide you with a replacement car, hotel accommodation and repatriation of your vehicle to the UK.     European motor vehicle breakdown insurance is not the same as or a replacement for your normal car insurance. Be sure you contact your insurer and inform them if you intend to travel to Europe with your car. They will no longer issue a "green card", but they will note the countries in which you intend to travel and often will send you a form in various languages, which will help should you be unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident.
