Brittany Ferries inclusive holidays in France and Spain

Portsmouth is very easy to reach with the motorway taking you right to the dockyard gates. From here you can take the Portsmouth to Caen ferry, with good transport links into the whole of France, especially convenient for going south now the new A28 is open from Alencon to Tours.

If you're going to Brittany or the south-west of France the overnight Portsmouth to St Malo crossing means you start your journey refreshed. St Malo is an excellent starting point, cutting a couple of hours off the drive from Caen, Cherbourg or Roscoff if you're going south.

St Malo from Plymouth started in November 2011. This service runs during the winter months, until mid-March, and offers an easy get-away to Western France.

During the summer a state of the art Fast Ferry operates from Portsmouth to Cherbourg with a crossing time of just under 5 hours.

Portsmouth to Le Havre is Brittany Ferries' newest crossing and operates using their Normandie Express Fastcraft from May to September. Le Havre is the closest ferry port to Paris and the crossing only takes 3 and three quarter hours, so you can be in Paris in time for tea! There's also the Brittany Ferries Economie service which is great if you're travelling on a budget.

And now you can travel in luxury from Portsmouth to Santander in Northern Spain in just 24 hours on Brittany Ferries' flagship, the Pont-Aven, or it's most modern ship, the Cap Finistere. There are three return crossings weekly from Portsmouth to Santander.

In addition in Spring 2011 the new route from Portsmouth to Bilbao was launched, with a crossing time of 24 hours and served by the newest ship in the Brittany Ferries fleet, the Cap Finistere.

Your journey is now a pleasure in itself, as Brittany Ferries' modern ship, the Armorique, a state-of-the-art cruise ferry was introduced in April 2009, replacing the previous rather elderly vessel.

The fastest ferry crossing from the UK to Spain is offered from Plymouth to Santander, the voyage taking just 18 hours, with the route sharing the Pont  Aven used on the Portsmouth Santander crossing. Plymouth has a direct dual carriageway link into the M5.

Poole to Cherbourg is also a popular route. The crossing is served by the Barfleur Cruise Ferry. There are two sailings daily (reduced service at certain times (see timetable) departing Poole in the morning and returning from Cherbourg late afternoon. The crossing takes just 4 and a quarter hours which is Brittany Ferries' fastest crossing by ferry between the UK and France.
