linked to each other by bus or lifts. But the area is best enjoyed with a car,
allowing you to fully explore the delightful scenery. And it's easy to get to
There are lots of of little villages making up
the Bavarian ski region, centred on Garmisch. The lift system is being modernised
as Garmisch is hosting the 2011 Winter Olympics. This area is generally less

It's easy to reach Germany using the European
motorway network. From the Channel ports head for Stuttgart then Munich, from
where it's an easy hour's drive to the resorts. If you live in the North of
the UK save the drive to Dover and cross from Newcastle to Ijmuiden near Amsterdam
or from Hull to Rotterdam in Holland. From Rotterdam and Ijmuiden (Amsterdam)
you might like to travel via Cologne (Koln), Frankfurt and Nurenberg to Munich.
