The Portsmouth to Le Havre route is served
by Brittany Ferries' Fast Ferry Normandie Express. This is Brittany
Ferries latest route, launched on May 16 2013. The Normandie Express
will make the crossing four times weekly from mid May to mid September.
The crossing only takes 3 and three quarter hours
so passengers can be in Le Havre in time for lunch. The Fastcraft will operate
on four days each week.
The timetable is as follows:

Thursdays - Sundays
Departs Portsmouth 0700, arrives Le Havre 1145
Departs Le Havre 1230, arrives Portsmouth 1515
Brittany Ferries also offers a reduced price "Economie" service
which departs at 23:15hrs Monday to Thursday returning at 17:15hrs Tuesday
to Friday. This service is perfect for those looking to get to France on

The Normandie Express is a twin-hulled catamaran capable of whisking you

also the most easterly, offering a fast and easy way to reach Paris.
In fact Le Havre is the nearest car ferry port to the French capital,
just 196 km away, with a driving time of about 2 and a quarter hours
via the Autoroutes A131 and A13.
With the recent completion of the A28 the whole of France can be
reached without needing to go via Paris by taking the A131, the
A13 and then the A28 via Le Mans. The Loire is just a two hour drive.
