Drive-Alive Holidays Ltd use of cookies

Driving holidays in Europe for the independent motorist. Ferries, hotels, holiday homes, camping.

Drive-Alive Holidays Ltd - Cookies and how we use them.

The cookies we use are only for the purpose of tracking your movements around our website and the websites of our partners. The cookie is not used to identify you personally in any way and serves no purpose except to allow the websites to recognise your device (PC, laptop or smartphone) in order to provide you with a seamless experience whilst on the website of Drive-Alive and its partners. Without cookies many of the features on our website (and most websites) would simply not work.

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes a unique identifier that is sent to your device's browser (Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera etc) from a website's computer and is stored on your device's hard drive for a limited time. Each website you visit can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has sent to you itself, not the cookies sent to you by other websites. Many websites do this whenever a user visits their website in order to track online traffic flows.

The cookie identifies your computer to our website, and those of our partners, but in no way identifies anything about you personally. When you visit our pages the cookie is downloaded to your device along with the page.

On Drive-Alive's websites, cookies are used to track your progress around our pages and if you click to book on one of our partners' websites then the partner website will place a cookie on your device to recognise that you have come form Drive-Alive. This is known as a third party cookie. This means that while you are searching and booking the different options we offer our partners can hold on to your previously entered information for a limited time (usually one or two months) until you have finished the process.

Users have the opportunity to set their devices to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences. If you choose not to receive cookies it means that many of the search and book features cannot then be provided to you and you will not be able to take full advantage of all of the website's features.

Third Party Cookies on Drive-Alive's pages

Because Drive-Alive web pages are integrated with those of many of our partners (ferry companies, hotel providers etc) for booking purposes we need to track your movement to the websites of these different providers. This is sometimes done via a third party tracking network and sometimes directly through the provider's website. These partners and third party tracking networks place a cookie on your device in order to be able to recognise that the user came from Drive-Alive.

Please note that during your visits to Drive-Alive's websites you may notice some features that are not related to Drive-Alive or Drive-Alive's partners. When you visit a page with content embedded from, for example, Twitter or Facebook, cookies from these websites may be downloaded to your device. Drive-Alive does not control the dissemination of these cookies. You should check the third party websites for more information about these. The originators of such cookies can only place their cookie on your browser if we have decided they are reputable enough to be included on our website. We take great care to ensure that this is the case, but cannot be held responsible for such cookies.

If you have any questions/comments about cookies and privacy, you should email us.
