Sardinia is a spectacularly beautiful island. Most people fly, but it is perfectly possible to drive to various locations in Italy and catch a ferry. Flights are available from several UK aiports to Sardinia's three main airports, Alghero, Olbia and the main one Cagliari. In all these you can hire a car at competitive prices.
