A camping holiday in Sicily is a great way to enjoy this fascinating and ancient land. The campsite used by both Eurocamp and Keycamp is in the far North-West of Sicily. About 4 km away is the attractive small coastal fishing town of San Vito lo Capo.

In common with the rest of Sicily the town demonstrates a strong Arabic influence. It is known as the Capital of Couscous, ad there is an annual Couscous festival towards the end of September. For more info on the town, visit the official website for San Vito lo Capo.

The campsite is set amongst typically Sicilian coastal scenery. It's a site with plenty of opportunities to be active. For example, nearby is a climbing cliff for those with no fear of heights. There's a fantastic swimming pool overlooking the sea. And the campsite has its own private rocky beach with a sandy beach close by.

Try supervised deep sea diving then, if you're there in mid-August use up any remaining energy at the Ferragosto music festival, with discos on the beach.

You'll find all the usual Eurocamp quality at El Bahira with a mini market, pizzeria and childrens' play area.

Nearby are two nature reserves, Monte Cofano and Zingaro. Monte Cofano drops spectacularly to sea level, where you can visit an enormous cave, so big that houses and even a chapel were built inside.

Zingaro is also a coastal reserve with many beautiful and quiet coves where you can swim in the crystal clear waters. The reserve has many well-marked paths, and is famous for the variety of it flora.

To best enjoy this lovely area a car is advised. Palermo is the nearest airport, about 110 km and the best part of 2 hours on windy roads. Sicily's other major airport, at Catania, is about 320 km, which takes about 4 hours driving, the section between Catania and Palermo being mostly motorway (autostrada).

When you arrive at the airport collect a hire a car . Our software trawls all the local car hire companies to find you the best deal.
