Access:
Kaprun is 80km (50 miles) from Salzburg in the province of Salzburgerland, in northern Austria.  Apart from Salzburg airport, the largest international airport is Munich, 210km (120 miles) away.

Drivers have easy access to the resort thanks to its low altitude compared to other top ski areas.  Coming from the north leave the motorway at the Seigsdorf exit in Germany on the Munich to Salzburg motorway, then drive south through Lofer and Saalfelden to Zell am See and Kaprun. There are large free car parks at the ski lift base stations.

The nearest train station is Zell am See, so train travellers should take a bus or taxi from there to Kaprun.  There is a taxi stand beside the station.

Kaprun has about 17 restaurants and plenty of bars offering apres ski entertainment. There's a fitness centre and a solarium, stean rrom and sauna. During the winter season you can enjoy cross country skiing, tobogganing, snow rafting or try out your moves on the ice rink.

The small but excellent ski school has around 17 instructors and good facilities for children.
